Bajaj Auto has confirmed via its social media channels that it will launch the Chetak electric scooter in Nagpur soon. The registrations are open online while the booking process will commence soon. Apart from Nagpur, Bajaj Auto offers the Chetak electric scooter in Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
The company offers two variants of the scooter – Urbane and Premium. The Urbane variant is available at Rs 1.42 lakh while the Premium model retails at Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). Both variants use the same 3.8kW motor that draws power from a non-removable 3kWh IP67 lithium-ion battery pack.
Bajaj Auto claims a range of 95km (Eco mode) and a top speed of 70kmph. The battery pack can be recharged through the built-in charger that is fitted under the seat. It can be connected to a 5A power socket.
The electric scooter from the Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer gets a retro-design. The feature list comprises full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled console that offers access to a wide range of data. The Chetak rivals the likes of Ather 450X and the TVS iQube.
