The upcoming Bajaj CNG bike is all set to be launched in India in June 2024. India's first-ever CNG motorcycle, likely to be called the Bajaj Bruzer CNG, is expected to be a game-changer. Here's a peek at everything we know about the new CNG bike from Bajaj.
Lower Running Costs
The Bajaj CNG bike will have multiple fuel options, but the mainstay will be the mid-mounted CNG tank that will be placed under a small petrol tank. Although the motorcycle will run largely on greener fuel, the fossil fuel is likely to be used for ignition and last-mile connectivity. That said, the cleaner and much cheaper fuel option is expected to cut running costs by almost half.
Design
While official details are still under wraps, leaks suggest the Bajaj CNG bike will feature a rugged and commuter-friendly styling. It will feature an LED headlamp with a tall visor, small fuel tank, and a sleek tail section. As we mentioned earlier, the cylindrical CNG tank will be placed under the fuel tank and the seat. Expect a comfortable riding position similar to Bajaj’s existing commuter models.
Engine Specifications
Although there’s no official word on the engine displacement, Bajaj may equip the CNG bike with a 125cc, air-cooled engine from some of its commuter motorcycles. While the exact power figures are unknown, the motor is likely to be tuned for fuel efficiency and everyday commuting needs. The engine will be paired with a five-speed gearbox.
Variants and Features
According to the leaked images, Bajaj might surprise us with not one, but two versions of the CNG bike. One for the city dwellers and the other for the rural markets. The rugged version will come with features such as a sump guard to protect the engine, knuckle guards, and a handlebar brace for added stability.
We expect it to come with basic features to ensure affordability. That said, essential features like a front disc brake, combined braking system, and a semi-digital instrument cluster should be standard.
Launch Date and Price
The Bajaj CNG bike will be launched in India on 18 June, 2024. It is expected to be priced at around Rs. 80,000 (ex-showroom), which should make it as attractive proposition for budget-conscious buyers.
Greener Mobility
It is a well-established fact that CNG burns cleaner than fossil fuels. With lower running costs and a smaller carbon footprint, the Bajaj CNG bike will be kinder for the environment.
