- To be named the Freedom
- Could be offered in two variants
- Will feature a petrol and CNG setup
In its latest teaser, Bajaj has officially revealed the name of its CNG motorcycle and it will be called the Freedom. The video has been posted on Bajaj’s social media handles and the bike will be launched today. So, here is a quick recap of everything that has been revealed so far.
From the multiple spy shots, teasers, and blueprints that we have come across so far, it is evident that the Bajaj Freedom 125 will be a proper commuter motorcycle with notably slim proportions. Its engine capacity is likely to not exceed 125cc.
Further, there could be multiple variants as we saw two test bikes, and both differed visually. One of them donned a simpler bodywork like a proper commuter would and the other had elements which made it appear slightly rugged – a braced handlebar, handle guards, and a bash plate. So, Bajaj could bring two variants with different pricing.
Although the talk of the town for the Bajaj Freedom has been its CNG provision, the highlight here is that it will be a petrol and CNG setup. Bajaj has also posted another teaser that shows a switch on the Freedom to shift from petrol to CNG. The previously leaked blueprints revealed that the Freedom will get a conventional fuel tank with the CNG cylinder placed beneath. The latter will be held by a couple of semicircular braces welded on the main frame.
Its hardware will comprise telescopic front forks and a monoshock whereas the braking duties could be done by a front disc and rear drum brake setup. But it's quite possible that the affordable version of the Bajaj Freedom could come with drum brakes at both ends.
We think Bajaj Freedom’s asking price could start from Rs. 90,000 and go all the way up to Rs. 95,000 for the top-spec model. That said, Freedom’s official launch will commence in just a few hours, so stay tuned to BikeWale as we bring you more updates on it.
