Bajaj has resumed the high sales numbers in exports after seeing a slight slump in the fourth quarter of last year. The manufacturer has bagged an order of 48,000 bikes from Nigeria.
The orders of two-wheelers and three-wheelers from Nigeria, Egypt and Sri Lanka had seen a sudden fall, resulting in a decline in the export revenue for Bajaj. However, the revenue has now picked up by 17 per cent in the first quarter this year. The manufacturer has managed to sell 3,89,000 units of two-wheelers overseas showing a 47 per cent contribution to the overall sales.
By the end of this quarter, the net profit of the company boosted by 37 per cent due to exports and other income. The dividend income from KTM has also assisted in the growth of Bajaj's revenue. The increasing demand of Bajaj products all over the world is in a way helping the manufacturer grow in terms of revenue and also as a brand. The trend, alas, is seeing a downfall in the domestic market, but hopefully with the launch of new products under the Pulsar and Discover brand, along with the new Avenger, the manufacturer will be able to sustain its position in the Indian market.
