Bajaj Auto Limited has started rolling out the new CT100B to showrooms all over India. Bajaj is selling the ‘most affordable motorcycle’ for Rs 32,668 (ex-showroom Mumbai). Here are some pictures and details of the same.
It is evident in the pictures how Bajaj has cut the cost of the CT100 by around Rs 4,000. The biggest change are the spoke wheels; Bajaj has gone back in time in an effort to cut costs by losing the alloy wheels. Another big change is the loss of chrome finish, the leg guard, saree guard and even the brake pedal are in comparatively cheaper matte black finish.
The bike also loses some of its fairings and sports a rounded headlamp without the headlight fairing. The side fairings are also replaced with a longer metal rear luggage rack in the same matte black finish. The CT100B also gets a redesigned tail lamp. The new rounded rear-view mirrors and thicker seat seem significantly more ergonomic.
In terms of performance, the motorcycle is identical to the CT100. The CT100B will use the same 99.2cc engine making 7.9bhp at 7,500rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The motorcycle will also have the same 4-speed gearbox and a top speed of around 90kmph.
Bajaj Auto Limited have begun dispatching these motorcycles but we expect to receive an official word from them in the coming weeks.
