Chakan-based two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto has launched the new CT110, a new offering in its commuter line-up. The motorcycle is available in two variants kick-start and electric start. The CT110 makes its place in the company’s portfolio between the entry-level CT100 and the Platina 100. Here are the top five highlights of the new CT110 from Bajaj.
Frugal 110cc motor
Efficiency is one of the most important aspects when it comes to motorcycles in the commuter segment. The CT110 is powered by a 115.45cc air-cooled carburetted motor that is capable of churning out 8.6bhp at 7000rpm and 9.81Nm at 5000rpm. It is the same motor that also does duty in the Platina 110 model which, reportedly returns an ARAI fuel efficiency rating of 104kmpl. Expect the CT110 to return a fuel efficiency figure around the same ballpark. Transmission duties are handled by a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox.
Semi-knobby tyres
The CT110 is mainly targeted at Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets where the surface of the road that motorcycles are ridden on are, often, a mix of tarmac and dirt and sometimes slush. To achieve traction in such scenarios, Bajaj has equipped the CT110 with semi-knobby tyres to offer the best of both worlds. The tyres sizes are 2.75x17 P for the front and 3.00x17 P for the rear.
Additional Comfort and features:
Comfort is yet another aspect that is equally important in the case of commuter bikes, which is why Bajaj has additionally equipped the CT110 with a thick padded seat with Rexine leathercloth fabric and rubber tank pads for additional support for the thighs.
In addition to that, the CT110 comes equipped with few additional features like stronger and bigger crash guards, fork gaiters and rubber covers for the mirror stocks. It also sports a ground clearance of 170mm, allowing it to clear dirt roads with ease.
Colour:
The CT110 is available with the choice of three colour options - Gloss Ebony Black with Blue decals, Matte Oliver Green with Yellow decals and Gloss Flame Red with Bright Red decals.
Price:
Bajaj has priced the CT110 competitively in the market, making it an attractive proposition to consider. The base kick-start model has been priced at Rs 37,997 while the electric start variant has been priced at Rs 44,352 (both, ex-showroom, Delhi). At this price, the CT110 undercuts the other 110cc options in the market and competes against the TVS Sport and Hero HF Deluxe.
