Bajaj Motorcycles is currently developing a new naked motorcycle to improve its falling sales. This information was revealed to BikeWale by a source who is close to this project.
This new motorcycle will be a part of a new brand that the Pune-based manufacturer is planning to launch in the next few months. Bajaj is focussing a lot on the design of this new motorcycle and wants it to stand out from its competitors. As per the source, this motorcycle will slot between 125cc and 150cc segment. Just like the rest of its bikes, Bajaj is counting on good volumes for this bike.
Bajaj wants this new brand to perform better than the Discover which failed to attract lot of customers, especially in the 100cc-125cc segment. The prototypes of this new Bajaj bike are ready and one of them is already being tested around Bajaj’s factory. However, the testing time has been set in such a way that the bike won’t be snapped by anyone, at least for the next couple of weeks.
Bajaj has admitted that launching multiple bikes under the Discover brand was a bad attempt. They now plan to focus on creating new segments and launch more products under the Pulsar brand. This new naked motorcycle is a part of this new plan and will make it to production in the middle of the next financial year.
