Bajaj Motorcycles are known to shock Indian consumers with their offerings. They shocked us with the showcase of the Pulsar CS400 which gathered a lot of eyeballs. A trusted source of ours informed us that the Pune based manufacture is developing a Pulsar NS1200, which is expected to hit market in 2016.
The Pulsar 1200 will be based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R which is one of the best street naked motorcycles in the world. The Super Duke R is powered by 1,301cc twin-cylinder liquid cooled engine that churns out 180bhp at 8,870rpm and 144Nm of peak torque. The Pulsar NS1200, will get a detuned engine and the power figures will be much lower as compared to the Austrian motorcycle. The Pulsar NS1200 will get ABS but to keep costs in check, it won’t get the traction control.
Our sources say that the prototype of the Pulsar NS1200 is being readied and the overall design will be very different from the KTM 1290 Super Duke R. The bike will be priced very aggressively and will be sold in other markets.
