Bajaj Motorcycles has launched many Discovers in the last financial year. This has led to a lot of confusion among buyers because all of them look very similar to each other. However, Bajaj has decided not to confuse anyone with their new Discover which will be the top of the line bike in the series.
The overall design of the new Discover will be carried from its younger siblings but one thing that will differentiate it from others is the presence of a front semi-fairing. This upcoming Discover was spied testing few days ago with camouflage. Many components like the alloy wheels, exhaust, seat, rear monoshock suspension, fuel tank, rear view mirrors, grab rail and the kick starter are all identical to the Discover 125ST, which means that the bike will be based on the Discover 125ST platform.
A semi-faired product will lend even more credibility to the Discover’s ‘Sport Tourer’ claim, even if it means added cost. Products like the Yamaha Fazer have proven that a good-looking motorcycle can return better profits than the standard motorcycle, and Bajaj seems to be testing the waters with this semi-faired version. The presence of the Fazer also means that it will be either a low-cost 150 (if at all) but we’re leaning towards the 125cc option, because it will mean a great price, which is the point of the Discover range: to offer more for less. Reports suggest that the bike is in the final stage of testing which appears like it in the images and is likely to make its way to the Indian market in next few months.
