Bajaj is set to launch a new platform for the Discover motorcycles and while we wait for the exact details from the Pune-based manufacturer, the new Discover 100 M has been spied at a dealership in Alibag. The spy picture suggests that the company will probably launch the Discover 100 M along with the platform at the press conference today.
The Discover 100M will be positioned between the Discover 100 and the Discover 100T, giving more options to the Indian consumers. The pictures show that the 100 M gets a new paint job along with decent amount of graphics. It has a petal-type disc brake option and revised exhaust muffler. The foot pegs and the grab rails on the other hand seem basic. The engine of the new bike gets a black finish and has alloy-wheels with similar paint-scheme. It features list includes electric starter, drum brakes as standard, (nitrox) gas charged shock absorbers and instrument console borrowed from the Discover 100.
The Discover 100 M will be powered by the same 102cc DTSi engine, but is expected to churn out reduced power output of 9.3bhp and 9.2Nm. It seems that the new motorcycle will have four-valves with swirl induction offering very high efficiency. The engine is mated to four-speed manual gearbox and the motorcycle is expected to be priced close to Rs 45,000 (ex-showroom Pune).
Bajaj has announced to launch 6 versions of the Discover this fiscal year. The Discover 100 M will be the second in the range to be launched this year.
