- Bajaj Dominar 250 sales reach 861 units in March
- Launched last month priced at Rs 1.60 lakh
- Borrows design and features from Dominar 400
The Bajaj Dominar 250 was launched in India in March with a price tag of Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom). And the motorcycle is off to a good start, registering a sale of 861 units in the first month itself.
The Dominar 250 is a more accessible and affordable version of its bigger sibling, the Dominar 400. The latter registered a sale of 280 units in March this year; a decrease of 20 per cent compared to the 350 units sold in March 2019. Nonetheless, the Dominar 250 borrows the styling and bodywork from the Dominar 400 and hence comes with full-LED lighting, a secondary display on the muscular fuel tank, and dual-barrel exhaust canister.
The Dominar 250 also gets similar equipment like dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, upside-down forks, and twin-disc setup (although smaller in size). Nevertheless, the Dominar 250 is powered by a 248.77cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This motor is tuned to produce 26.6bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 23.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm and it comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
