- Upcoming Bajaj Dominar 250 reaches dealerships
- Will be priced at Rs 1.60 lakhs (ex-showroom, Bangalore)
- Unofficial bookings have commenced at select dealerships
Bajaj will soon add a new touring motorcycle in its portfolio with the launch of the new Dominar 250. Ahead of its official launch, the motorcycle has started arriving at dealerships. As we have revealed recently, the motorcycle will be priced at Rs 1.60 lakhs (ex-showroom, Bangalore) which makes it Rs 31,000 cheaper than the Dominar 400. Unofficial bookings for the bike have also commenced at select dealerships.
In terms of design, the Dominar 250 looks identical to its 400cc sibling. It gets the same full-LED headlamp and tail lamp along with LED turn indicators. The sculpted fuel tank, sharp extensions, stubby tail section with split grab rails, dual exhaust canister and split seat have also been borrowed from the Dominar 400. However, the 250cc touring bike comes draped in gloss red paint scheme which has not been introduced in the bigger Dominar yet.
The motorcycle will be powered by an engine based on the KTM 250 Duke’s motor. This 248cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled unit produces 29.6bhp and 24Nm on the KTM but these numbers could be different for the Dominar. In terms of hardware, the suspension and braking setup remains the same as the 400cc model. What differs is the type of swingarm which is a more conventional box-type unit while the rear tyre is also skinnier.
Besides the red paint scheme you can see in the pictures, Bajaj will also launch the Dominar 250 in black colour option. In terms of competition, it will go up against the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Yamaha FZ25.
