- Teaser video highlights the touring nature of the Bajaj Dominar 250
- Will be priced at Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom Bangalore)
- Pre-bookings already open
As the Indian launch of the Dominar 250 comes close, Bajaj Auto has released a teaser video for its upcoming, quarter-litre motorcycle. The 13-second teaser does not reveal the motorcycle, although it emphasises on the touring focussed nature of the motorcycle.
Bajaj Auto is yet to announce the launch details. Meanwhile, the new Dominar 250 has started to reach several dealerships, and the pre-bookings for the motorcycle have already commenced for a token amount of Rs 5,000. Bajaj Auto aims to attract a wider audience with the more accessible variant of the Dominar. Thus, while the flagship model (Dominar 400) retails at Rs 1.91 lakhs, the quarter-litre version will be available at Rs 1.60 lakhs (both ex-showroom Bangalore prices).
As seen through spy images and videos, the new Bajaj Dominar 250 will look very similar to the flagship model. Thus, the quarter-litre variant of the Dominar range will come equipped with full-LED lighting, split-style instrument cluster and muscular styling. Hardware specifications will comprise of upside-down telescopic front forks, preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, disc brakes on both wheels and a dual-channel ABS.
Mechanical specifications will include a 248cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that will be based on the KTM’s 250cc engine. The power and torque output numbers would most likely be lower than the KTM 250 Duke. The quarter-litre naked roadster from the Austrian brand, for reference, produces 29.6bhp and 24Nm.
The new Bajaj Dominar 250 will rival the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the Yamaha FZ25.
