Bajaj recently revealed prices of the BS6 compliant Dominar 400 in India. The motorcycle costs Rs 1.91 lakh; a marginal premium of Rs 1,749 over the BS4 model. Nevertherless, in that price range, there are five other motorcycles. Here is what the list of options looks like-
KTM offers the 250 Duke at Rs 2 lakh. The streefighter styled motorcycle is built on a tubular steel trellis frame which houses a BS6-compliant, 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. This engine puts out 29.6bhp and 24Nm. In terms of features it gets an LED DRL, switchable ABS and slipper clutch as standard.
If you would prefer a faired motorcycle, KTM has the RC 200 with a price tag of Rs 1.96 lakh. The RC 200 also uses a streel trellis frame like the 250 Duke however with a different sub-frame that gives it an upswept tail section. Furthermore, the RC 200 also gets sharp styling all over and the twin LED projector with LED DRLs upfront complete its look. Powering the motorcycle is a 199cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which is BS6-compliant. It puts out 25.1bhp and 19.5Nm.
The Himalayan is the only adventure-touring motorcycle in this list which Royal Enfield retails at Rs 1.96 lakh. It rides on spoke wheels and gets a high-set mudguard, upswept exhaust as well as engine bash plate that accentuates its off-road abilities. Moreover, the Royal Enfield Himalayan also comes with switchable ABS that turns off the system for the rear wheel. Powering the motorcycle is a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that has been tweaked for BS6-compliance. This engine produces 24.3bhp and 32Nm of torque.
The Jawa Perak is a unique-looking motorcycle that incorporates a bobber-inspired styling. The Perak gets a single ‘floating seat’ and completely blacked out components to achieve that look. It uses a BS6-compliant, 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that is capable of producing 30bhp and 31Nm. As for features, the Perak offers a small LCD display coupled with an analogue speedometer and dual-channel ABS as standard.
