- Non-ABS Dominar 400 discontinued from Indian market
- Dominar ABS is currently being sold at 1.63 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi
- 2019 Dominar under development
Bajaj Motorcycles has discontinued the non-ABS variant of its flagship bike, the Dominar 400. The company has taken down the non-ABS variant from its official website.
As per Bajaj’s official website, the Dominar now starts at Rs 1.63 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Two years ago, this motorcycle was launched at Rs 1.36 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the non-ABS variant. The ABS model was then priced at Rs 1.50 lakhs. Since then the Pune-based manufacturer has been slowly and steadily increasing the price of its flagship bike.
While discontinuing the most affordable model from the line-up is a big call, Bajaj claims that the ABS variant sells more than the non-ABS variant. Bajaj is known to be proactive when it comes to policy changes. During the BS3 to BS4 jump, the company had launched the BS4 variants much before the policy kicked in. It looks like it is planning to do the same with the ABS norm.
Bajaj is also upgrading the Dominar 400 for 2019. Some spyshots of the 2019 Dominar revealed a few major additions like the presence of upside-down forks (USD) and minor design changes. The 2019 Dominar is likely to be priced marginally higher than the current variant.
