Bajaj Motorcycles shocked us with the launch of their new flagship motorcycle – the Dominar 400. With a price tag of Rs 1.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delh) for the non-ABS version, the Dominar 400 undercuts the Royal Enfield Classic 350 by a decent margin. The ABS version, however, is priced at Rs 1.50 lakh, which still isn’t a bad pricing for a motorcycle with a 373cc engine and premium features. We will bring you the first ride review of the Dominar 400 next month but meanwhile, you can go through the photo gallery of the new power cruiser.
It gets a digital LCD instrument cluster that shows the speedometer, odometer and two trip meters. Along with the fuel level, it also shows the time.
It gets 34.5bhp and 35Nm from the 373cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. Gearbox is six speed and has a slipper clutch.
There’s a fuel-tank-mounted cluster too. Other than a glowing Bajaj logo, it has the side-stand, ABS and battery indicators. This has drawn inspiration from the Ducati Diavel.
The Dominar 400 is equipped with a 320mm disc in the front and a 230mm disc at the rear. The ABS system is a dual-channel one. The top speed of the bike is a claimed 148kmph. The bike does 0-100kmph in a claimed 8.23 seconds.
Bajaj claims that the Dominar 400 is the first made-in-India bike to sport full LED lights. It also gets the Auto Headlamp On(AHO) function.
The Dominar 400 has a maximum operating altitude of 18,380 feet. It’s clearly trying to attract tourers with this claim.
