Bajaj has announced that the first batch of the Dominar 400 has rolled off its production line at its facility in Chakan, near Pune. The production line is an all-woman one, and is managed by woman engineers as well.
The Dominar 400 has been known variously as the CS400, VS400 and Kratos before settling on the current moniker. It will be launched next month as a 2017 model. It shares its basic engine architecture with the KTM 390 Duke but not much else, although it will get a fuel injection system and dual channel ABS. With the Dominar 400, Bajaj is moving upward into a segment it hasn't dealt with before, so it will be interesting to see how the company deals with it. However, if the success of the Pulsar brand is anything to go by, there is nothing for Bajaj to worry about.
