Bajaj is going to launch the Dominar 400 in India tomorrow. The most powerful motorcycle in Bajaj’s line-up, the Dominar 400 is a sports cruiser which will lock horns with the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 and the Mahindra Mojo.
The Dominar 400 gets an aggressive stance with a stretched wheelbase, low set handlebars and a muscular fuel tank. A majority of styling elements like the LED headlamp, digital instrument cluster, stubby exhaust, alloy wheels and the tail section have been carried over from the Pulsar CS400 concept. However, the front USD suspension setup from the concept has been replaced with conventional telescopic forks.
Though this engine shares the displacement with the KTM 390 Duke’s engine, Bajaj has detuned it to match the Dominar 400’s character. While the Duke 390 churns out 44bhp, the Dominar 400’s motor has been restricted to 34.5bhp. ABS will be offered as an optional extra.
We can expect the Bajaj Dominar 400 to be launched with an attractive introductory price between Rs 1.6 lakh and Rs 1.8 lakh. Colour options will include red, white and black.
