Bajaj Dominar completes the Trans-Siberian Odyssey

Bajaj Auto has felicitated the three riders who completed the Trans Siberian Odyssey on the Dominar 400. The expedition spanned over 53 days covering about 15,600 kilometres across six countries namely Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Mongolia. The three riders – Deepak Kamath, Dilip Bhat and Sudhir Prasad – traversed through all kind of terrains including the treacherous Charyn Canyon and the infamous Road of Bones.

During the journey, which was divided into six legs, the riders travelled through high-altitude passes, grasslands, river beds, sand, rocky terrains, dirt trails, steep gradients, loose gravel, and extreme temperatures. They rode for an average of 390 kilometres each day. What’s commendable about this odyssey is that they accomplished this feat without any service support or back-up whatsoever. The Dominar became the only Indian bike to scale the Charyn Canyon and to ride on the Road of Bones.

The riders proclaimed that the Dominar undertook the gruesome journey without any breakdown or part replacement. The three motorcycles were bone stock apart from knobby tyres, metal bash plate, raised front mudguard and guard rails. One of the three bikes had a custom-made seat. Apart from these minor changes, the three Dominars had no mechanical modifications.

Now, all the three Dominars and their riders will embark upon a Victory Tour across our country and stop at 10 key metro cities. They will visit Bajaj dealerships where the Dominar owners can meet them and interact and learn from their experiences and even ride with them.
