The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike is currently only available in Maharashtra and Gujarat as the bike maker plans to ramp up production in a phased manner. But, come 15 August, Bajaj Auto will make the Freedom 125 available in 77 towns across India, which is also when we will celebrate the country's 77th Independence Day.
That said, Bajaj is yet to reveal the list of towns/cities where the Freedom 125 will be available by 15 August. The world’s first CNG motorcycle comes packed with a 2kg CNG tank that offers a claimed range of 102km/kg, along with a two-litre fuel tank with a claimed mileage of 65kmpl. In Bikewale’s CNG mileage test, the Freedom 125 delivered 80km/kg fuel efficiency on the highway and 104km/kg in the city.
The Freedom 125’s features list includes an LED headlight, digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and a combined braking system. The motorcycle gets a linked monoshock at the back and telescopic forks up front. The CNG tank is securely nestled inside a trellis frame and has been tested for safety.
Powering the Bajaj Freedom 125 is an all-new 125cc, air-cooled, sloper motor producing 9.3bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 9.7Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine is linked to a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is available in three variants and is priced between Rs. 95,000 (ex-showroom) to Rs. 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
