Bajaj finally debuted its and the world’s first mass-market CNG motorcycle, the Freedom 125. Now, the bike is offered in as many as three variants – Disc LED, Drum LED, and Drum. If you are going to purchase one, then here is how the three variants differ.
Disc LED
As the name suggests, the top-spec model comes with a 240mm front disc and 130mm rear drum brake setup and features an LED headlight. Further, the Disc LED variant gets an inverted full LCD with smartphone connectivity. Then, it also has a belly pan made of plastic and sheet metal. Lastly, the Freedom Disc LED also gets a tank cover flap which covers the inlet.
The asking price for the Bajaj Freedom 125 Disc LED model is set at Rs. 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It can be purchased in five colours – blue, black, white, red, and grey.
Drum LED
This is the mid-spec variant of the Bajaj Freedom 125 and it gets a 130mm front and rear drum brake. It also features an LED headlight but misses out on the smartphone connectivity. The Freedom 125 Drum LED model uses a small LCD which houses all the necessary readouts.
Like the Disc LED model, this one also gets a plastic and sheet metal belly pan and a tank flap. The Freedom 125 Drum LED's asking price is Rs. 1.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Drum
This is the most affordable variant and the entry ticket to the Freedom 125 lineup. The Drum brake model gets a 130mm front and rear drum mounted on a 17-inch front and 16-inch rear wheel wrapped in 80/90 front and 80/100 rear tyres.
The Bajaj Freedom 125 Drum trim gets a bulb headlight and a sheet metal belly pan. It also misses out on smartphone connectivity. It is offered in only two paint schemes – Pewter Grey and Ebony Black. The base trim retails at Rs. 95,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
All three trims are powered by a 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 9.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm at 5,000rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. Moreover, the design too is identical for all three trims.
