Bajaj Auto has hiked the price of the KTM Duke 200 by five per cent. The Indian two-wheeler major launched the bike with an introductory price of Rs 1.17 lakh and then later hiked it by Rs 3500. This second hike of five per cent (Rs 8000) has now taken the price of the Duke to Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
The Duke, even with the Rs 8000 hike in price, is still a good value for money as it offers a good level both power and performance at a very reasonable price and this is evident by the demand for the two-wheeler. However those who were expecting to get a discount on the bike in view of the festival season will be quite disappointed by the price hike.
Bajaj is not alone in hiking its prices. It joins four-wheeler manufacturers like Honda, General Motors and industry leader Maruti Suzuki who all raised their prices to combat increase in input costs and devaluation of the Rupee. The KTM Duke 200 comes with a 199.5cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine which produces 25bhp and 19.2 Nm of torque.
