Bajaj Motorcycles has gone ahead and silently hiked the price of the Pulsar AS200. This motorcycle now retails for Rs 93,552 (ex-showroom Delhi), Rs 2002 more than the launch price of Rs 91,550.
While Bajaj always has an introductory price for its performance bikes, it is quite interesting to see that it decided to increase the price during the festive season. Diwali is when we see majority of the sales taking place and an increase in price make us believe that the Pulsar AS200 is in good demand. And that could be because the dealers are pushing for this semi-faired bike rather than the Pulsar NS200, which will be discontinued soon. However, the price for its younger sibling – the Pulsar AS150 remains unchanged.
The Pulsar AS200 gets a 200cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 23.5bhp and 18Nm of torque with power going to the rear wheel via a chain-drive and six-speed gearbox. The overall design, which isn’t quite different from the Pulsar NS200, has hit the right note with the young Indian consumers.
The Pune-based manufacturer is expected to launch one more bike by the end of the financial year and that is the Pulsar CS400. Let’s wait and see at how much the company pegs their new flagship model.
