Bajaj has launched two new variants for the CT100 and the Platina. While the CT100 ES Alloy is a new top-of-the-line variant priced at Rs 41,997, the Platina ES Spoke is the new entry-level offering in the family, retailing at Rs 42,650 (both prices, ex-showroom).
The CT100 ES Alloy is similar to the other variants in the line-up, although it benefits from an electric starter and alloy wheels. It is based on a double cradle frame and powered by a 99.3cc single-cylinder engine. It delivers 8.1bhp and 8.05Nm of torque through a four-speed transmission. The Platina ES Spoke on the other hand, is an affordable alternative to the existing model, and rides on spoke wheels. It is powered by a 102cc DTS-i engine producing 8.1bhp and 8.6Nm of torque, and mated to a four-speed gearbox.
Relaunched in India in 2015, the CT100 has become the highest selling motorcycle in Bajaj’s line-up. The range also consists of the CT100B, which is the most affordable motorcycle that you can buy in the Indian market. The Platina is also doing well, averaging over 30,000 units a month. While the Platina ES Spoke is priced at least Rs 3,000 lower than the top-end variants, the CT100 ES Alloy is expensive by at least Rs 3,300 compared to the spoke wheel variant.
