Bajaj launches the Kawasaki Ninja 300 for Rs 3.5 lakh

Kawasaki Ninja 300, the much awaited upgrade of the Ninja 250, has been launched for Rs. 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Ninja 300 churns out a maximum of 39bhp @ 11000 rpm from its new 296cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel twin engine. The torque figures peak at 28Nm@10000 rpm. The smallest fully faired true-bred sports-bike in India will be offered in the Kawasaki Lime Green and the Pearldust Star White colour options.

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 has improved mid-range, courtesy the increased stroke and dual throttle valves with the main valve now measuring 32mm. The engine weight has been reduced using sleeveless cylinders, lighter pistons, a redesigned head, crankcase and oil pan. The Ninja 300 boasts of a slipper clutch, a first in the low-capacity sports-bikes in India. The steel-tube diamond frame offers improved strength and durability and the agility associated with the sports-bike tag.

The 300 sports a twin headlamp setup with a sculpted body, inspired from the ZX10R, a trend set by Yamaha R15 and Honda CBR250R. The new Ninja gets an analog-digital meter that matches the latest big-bike trend in India. The 300 has a fuel-gauge, a pass-light switch and a substitute for the grab-rail that were missing in the Ninja 250. The European spec Ninja 300 is offered with ABS and should soon be available in India.

Bajaj has announced that they will be adding nine more Pro-biking showrooms across India to the existing 71 show-rooms by the end of this year. Mr. Yuji Horiuchi, head-Kawasaki India, said that they will introduce more products in the Indian market in future.
