- Bajaj may launch more Chetak models
- Can see some Yulu models as well
Bajaj is looking to expand its electric vehicle range in the next few years. The company may add more variants and models under the Chetak line-up.
According to a report, the Pune-based manufacturer is planning to launch new EVs in the low and mid-speed segments. This is being planned with Yulu –an EV company that saw investment from Bajaj a few years ago. As of now, there are barely any details on the upcoming launches, but we can expect the company to use the Chetak architecture and develop a low-cost model.
The Chetak is currently available only in a few cities. Bajaj claims that it wants to expand to more cities but the shortage of chips is making things a bit difficult for them. It believes that 30-40 per cent of overall two-wheeler sales will come from EVs in the next 5-7 years. The rest will continue to be dominated by ICE.
