Bajaj is planning to expand its Dominar range with the launch of a new bike by the end of the current calendar year. Rajiv Bajaj, CEO, Bajaj revealed this details while addressing the shareholders in the annual general body meeting.
The top honcho, however, didn’t reveal any more information on this upcoming motorcycle. Few months ago, we talked about a Scrambler that is under development at Bajaj’s R&D facility. The bike that the Rajiv Bajaj is speaking about could be the Scrambler which is based on the Dominar. Bajaj feels there’s a space to add more bikes between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh price bracket. Currently, this bracket is crowed by Bajaj and KTM bikes and the upcoming bike could be positioned above the Dominar.
“By December, we will launch new products under all our seven brands: CT, Platina, Discover, V, Avenger, Pulsar and Dominar. Our effort is to gain 6% market share -we have grown from 14-20%, we will move from 20-26% and we will do this by maintaining EBITDA," Rajiv Bajaj he said.
While we’re really excited to see this new motorcycle from Bajaj, we hope the company adheres to its launch timelines. There have been few occasions where the top honcho promised a deadline, however, the official launches were pushed ahead by few months.
