The internet is ripe with many speculations and rumours about the upcoming facelift if the Bajaj Avenger. The newest one to join the list is that the company is planning to launch the updated budget cruiser in India on October 28.
Earlier spy shots have confirmed that the new Avenger will be available in at least two variants – Avenger Cruise and Avenger Street. While the entry-level Avenger Street gets a minimalistic look with a dark theme, the Avenger Cruise is a chrome-bedecked model, fitted with a number of customisation accessories. Powering both these variants would be the same 220cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine, which produces 19bhp and 17Nm of torque through a five-speed transmission.
Previous speculations had suggested that the new Avenger will make its debut by the end of October, and our sources have confirmed this rumour by pointing out an exact date. This launch date leaves enough time for service training as well as dealer despatch. Expect the new models to be marginally more expensive than the current Avenger, which should push their price tag to close to Rs 1 lakh.
