The eagerly awaited Bajaj Pulsar SS200 might be launched in India in this festive season. The Pulsar SS200 along with the Pulsar SS400 has been spotted testing quite a few times now, and now that its premium cousin, the KTM RC200, has already been launched, the coast seems to be clear for the company’s first fully faired motorcycle.
The Bajaj Pulsar SS200 will be largely based on its naked sibling, the Pulsar NS200, and will be powered by the same 199.5cc engine which produces 23bhp and 18Nm of torque. The Bajaj SS200 will get an aggressively sculpted fuel tank and fairing, dual headlamps, clip-on handlebar and split seats, just like the Pulsar SS400. The Pulsar SS200 has also been previously spotted in Bajaj showrooms, which indicate that the launch is just around the corner.
With the scooter market in India growing by leaps and bounds, many two-wheeler manufacturers are turning their focus on the development of scooters to increase their profitability. Bajaj however, has so far completely ignored the scooter market.
Acquiring a stake in Austrian two-wheeler manufacturer, KTM, has really helped Bajaj in the development of new engines and bikes, which is evident from the Pulsar NS200. KTM has also helped the Indian company to expand its footprint into Europe and other global markets, making Bajaj the most profitable two-wheeler manufacturer in India.
