Bajaj motorcycle sales for March 2015 decreased by 22 per cent with 2,09,937 units sold in comparison to the 2,70,578 units sold in the same month in 2014. Though the company didn’t show an increase in overall sales figures, they sold 40,667 commercial vehicles in March 2015. The manufacturer had sold 33,739 units in the corresponding period last year showing an increase of 21 per cent in sales of commercial vehicles.
The overall sales report shows a 18 per cent decline majorly because of the 22 per cent fall in sales of motorcycles. The company overall sold 2,50,604 units in March 2015 in comparison to the 3,04,317 units sold in the same month in 2014. The exports were also down by 16 per cent in March 2015 with 98,703 units sold last month as against 1,18,183 units in the corresponding month in 2014.
Bajaj Auto, the Pune-based motorcycle manufacturer, has gone on a launch spree this year by introducing new motorcycles in the Indian market. They recently launched the fully-faired Pulsar RS200 and will soon launch the 'Adventure Sport' motorcycles - the Pulsar AS200 and AS150. This widening of the range of motorcycles should help the manufacturer to keep their sales momentum going and will provide new options for the Indian consumers to choose from.
