Bajaj motorcycle sales for October 2015 decreased by eight per cent. The company sold 3,08,733 units last month in comparison to the 3,36,923 units sold in the same month in 2014.
The sales numbers of their commercial vehicles was also down by 10 per cent as they sold 44,089 units in October 2015. The manufacturer had sold 49,094 units in the corresponding period last year.
The overall sales report shows a nine per cent decline as the company overall sold 3,52,822 units last month in comparison to the 3,86,017 units sold in the same month last year. The exports saw a major dip as only 1,27,645 vehicles were sold overseas last month as against 1,58,547 units in October 2014. This accounts for a drop of 19 per cent in export numbers.
Even if the sales numbers show a decline in comparison to the figures of last year, these sales numbers for Bajaj are not bad in comparison to some other manufacturers. Hopefully the upcoming festive season will help in the boost in sales of motorcycles when Indian consumers buy a new two-wheeler. Bajaj’s refreshed Avenger cruiser motorcycle was launched recently and its demand should help in adding to the sales numbers in the coming months.
