Bajaj motorcycle sales for December 2014 decreased by six per cent with 2,46,233 units sold in comparison to the 2,60,645 units sold in the same month in 2013. Though the company didn’t show an increase in overall sales figures, they sold 43,011 commercial vehicles in December 2014. The manufacturer had sold 37,131 units in the corresponding period last year showing an increase of 16 per cent in sales of commercial vehicles.
The overall sales report shows a three per cent decline majorly because of the six per cent fall in sales of motorcycles. The company overall sold 2,89,244 units in December last year in comparison to the 2,97,776 units sold in the same month in 2013. However, the exports were the highest for the manufacturer in any December with 1,66,134 units being sold last month as against 1,50,753 units in the corresponding month in 2013. This shows a 10 per cent increase in sales overseas.
The Pune-based motorcycle manufacturer is preparing to launch new motorcycles the Indian market this year. This widening of the range of motorcycles includes the Pulsar SS400 and the Pulsar CS400. Both these bikes were unveiled at the 2014 Auto Expo. In addition to these, the Pulsar SS200, Pulsar NS180 and Pulsar NS150 might also be launched.
