Bajaj has launched the Platina 100 BS6 in India with a starting price of Rs 47,763 for the kick-start variant. Meanwhile, the electric-start version costs Rs 55,546. (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
As part of the BS6 update, the Platina 100’s 102cc, single-cylinder engine now gets an electronic fuel-injection system. It produces 7.7bhp of power and 8.34Nm of torque and comes mated to a four-speed gearbox. Apart from the updated engine, Bajaj has also subtly tweaked the Platina 100 BS6 to set it apart from the previous model.
The commuter motorcycle now gets a tinted windscreen instead of the colour-matched cowl on the BS4 version. The LED DRL is also placed closer to the headlamp making for a neater-looking fascia. Furthermore, the Platina 100 BS6 also comes with a new, ribbed-pattern seat borrowed from the Platina 110 H-Gear.
In other news, Bajaj has restarted operations after having temporarily shut down due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, the manufacturer has increased prices across its range and also announced an extension of warranty as well as free service validity until 31 July 2020.
