- Front disc brake can be similar to the one in Discover 125
- Also gets a 125cc engine and few cosmetic updates
- Developed only for export markets
A new variant of the Bajaj Platina has been spotted testing in Pune. The test mule featured a bunch of visual updates along with a front disc brake.
In India, the Platina is offered in a single variant with drum brakes at both ends. This test mule however, gets a disc brake at the front, a gold-coloured crankcase for the engine, new decals and a premium seat cover. Furthermor, this motorcycle also gets a 125cc engine. However, it has been developed just for the export markets and won't be sold in India.
The Platina is one of the highest selling motorcycles in Bajaj’s line-up. It is a basic commuter bike targeted at those who need a hassle-free, affordable and easy-to-maintain motorcycle. The India-spec model is powered by a 102cc single-cylinder engine delivering 8.1bhp and 8.6Nm of torque. As of now, the Discover 125 is the most affordable motorcycle in Bajaj’s portfolio to get the option of a front disc brake.
