- Lack of demand to blame
- Most dealers have run out of stock
- Pulsar 150 now the entry-level model in the Pulsar family
Bajaj has pulled the plug on the Pulsar 135LS for the Indian market. With this move, the Pulsar family now starts with the Pulsar 150 which is priced at Rs 74,074 (ex-showroom).
The Pulsar 135LS was launched in 2009 as a sporty motorcycle, although it never enjoyed the kind of success that its 150cc sibling has. Last year, Bajaj introduced a slew of updates to make it more practical and commuter-friendly. The motorcycle featured a new single-piece seat, a heel shifter for the gearbox, bigger windscreen and a revised grab rail. Besides, the price was dropped by a whopping Rs 5,000. However, this approach also seems to have failed to draw in the crowds.
The lack of demand has now led to Bajaj discontinuing the Pulsar 135LS from the Indian market. Most dealers have exhausted their stock of the Pulsar 135LS and are refusing to accept bookings. However, reports suggest that Bajaj will continue rolling out the Pulsar 135LS for other global markets.
