Bajaj has lowered the price of the Pulsar 135LS with the aim of making it more competitive in the executive commuter segment. While the Pulsar 135LS sported a price tag of around Rs 62,000 until recently, it now retails at Rs 58,002 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Since it was launched in 2009, the Pulsar 135LS has hardly received any major technological updates. Powering the Pulsar 135LS is a four-valve DTS-i mill delivering 13bhp and 11Nm of torque through a five-speed transmission. The Pulsar 135LS boasts of sporty split-seat, aluminium clip-on handlebars and other features comparable to other 150cc bikes. The light kerb weight of only 122 kilograms makes the Pulsar 135LS a really agile and nimble motorcycle.
The Bajaj Pulsar 135LS rivals other executive 125cc commuter bikes like the Hero Glamour and the Honda CB Shine, though the additional displacement means that the Pulsar 135LS outdoes these motorcycles in terms of performance. Even aesthetically, the Pulsar 135LS’ sportier looks make it a more lucrative option. However, the sales numbers of this bike have never been comparable to that of its two main rivals, and this price cut seems to be a strategy to boost the Pulsar 135LS’ volumes.
