Bajaj Pulsar 150 vs Pulsar P150: What’s Different?

Bajaj recently launched the Pulsar P150 in India. It’s now sold alongside the Pulsar 150 and marks the second model in the Chakan-based brand’s 150cc lineup. But how different is it from the Pulsar 150? Let’s find out through a detailed breakdown.

Design

Bajaj Pulsar P150 Head Light

The P150 gets a slightly youthful appearance with the new fascia housing the bi-functional LED projector unit with monobrow DRL, sharper tank shrouds, an underbelly exhaust, and a muscular rear end. Meanwhile, the old Pulsar 150 uses a dated halogen headlight. That said, the Pulsar 150’s bodywork is fairly muscular, has slim tank extension panels, and a butch overall appearance. The side-slung exhaust too adds to the visual mass of the Pulsar 150.

Engine

Bajaj has equipped the P150 with a new 149.68cc engine dishing out 14.5bhp at 8,500rpm and 13.5Nm at 6,000rpm. It’s mated to a five-speed gearbox. On the other hand, the Pulsar 150 gets 149.50cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor. It belts out 14bhp and 13.25Nm and is also mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Hardware

Bajaj Pulsar P150 Front Suspension

The P150 gets telescopic front forks and a monoshock while the Pulsar 150 rides on telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks. The braking hardware for the new model comprises a 260mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc; that for the Pulsar is a 280mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc in the similar variant. Both bikes ride on a 90/90-17 front but the P150 gets a wider 120/80 rear tyre as compared to the Pulsar 150’s 110/80 rear wheel.

Features

Apart from LED illumination, the P150 also gets a USB charging port and a semi-digital instrument console with an infinity screen. It houses various readouts like the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level gauge, and more. On the other hand, the Pulsar 150 still features an older digital-analog layout with basic readouts and misses out on LED illumination as well as a USB port.

Price

The asking price for the new Pulsar P150 is set at Rs 1,19,757 for the twin disc model and Rs 1,16,755 for the single disc version. And the Pulsar 150 dual disc and single variants cost Rs 1,14,176 and Rs 1,11,174 (all ex-showroom Delhi).
