A heavily camouflaged Bajaj Pulsar AS150 has been spotted testing in Pune. While the first glimpse at the motorcycle might trick you into believing that the motorcycle is a Pulsar 200AS, the lack of a disc brake and skinnier tyres at the rear indicate that the test mule is a lower capacity motorcycle.
While a majority of the components in the test mule are similar to the bigger Pulsar AS200, the rear section of this test mule bears a striking resemblance to the new Pulsar 150NS, which was recently unveiled at a trade fair in Istanbul, Turkey. The tail lamp cluster, reflectors, rear mudguard, saree guard and the skinnier tyres all seem to be lifted right off the Pulsar 150NS.
We expect the Pulsar AS150 to be powered by the same four-valve single-cylinder 149.5cc unit which is used in the upcoming Pulsar 150NS. This system churns out 16.8bhp and 13Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed transmission.
Bajaj had recently revealed its plans of introducing six new models over the next few months. The Pulsar AS150 will share a major chunk of its components with the other Bajaj motorcycles, which should help the Pune-based manufacturer price it very competitively. We expect the Pulsar AS150 to be priced Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 more than the Pulsar 150NS, making it rival the Yamaha Fazer version 2.0 and the upcoming semi-faired version of the Suzuki Gixxer.
