Bajaj has started testing their next Pulsars which seem to be a 150cc and 180cc variant but in the NS avatar. Our friends at Rush Lane have managed to get hold of many spy pictures that has given us a clearer picture of the Pulsar 150 and 180 replacements.
Both the motorcycles that were spied testing on National Highway 4 carry the same design cues as that of the Pulsar 200NS. However, there are few changes that make us believe that one is a 150NS and the other one the 180NS. The Pulsar 150NS gets a single long seat, basic rear mudguard along with a single grab rail which is not body coloured. On the other hand, the second spied motorcycle that is expected to be the 180NS gets a split grab rail and aluminium number plate holder identical to the one found on the Pulsar 200NS. Currently, the engine specs of both the motorcycles are not known but expect it to be better than the old ones. Rear discs are missing from the current Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar 180 but Bajaj is known to give surprises with the production ready models, so we can expect the same this time as well.
The Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar 180 needed a major overhaul. Bajaj has been selling these motorcycles since many years now with the old design but it still continues to be the highest seller for them. The Pulsar 200NS design has been a successful one, not just domestically but internationally as well. So it makes sense for Bajaj to carry the same design philosophy to other products in the portfolio as well. We can expect the Pulsar 150NS and the Pulsar 180NS to share space at the 2014 Auto Expo with the Pulsar 200SS and the Pulsar 375SS. Prices are expected to remain the same for both the motorcycles.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get more details on these two new Pulsars.
