Bajaj has so far shipped off over 20,000 units of the Pulsar 150NS to its international markets. Even as enthusiasts in India await the launch of this model, Colombia has become the latest global market to get a taste of this 150cc streetfighter.
Since it first made its debut in Indonesia over a year ago, Bajaj has so far exported 20,000 units of the Pulsar 150NS. Bajaj is the country’s biggest two-wheeler exporter and enjoys a cult following in several international markets like Indonesia and other Latin American countries. Even other recent models like the Pulsar RS200 were first introduced in other global markets before they made their way into Indian showrooms. The Pulsar 150 DTS-i is one of the top-selling Bajaj models in India and introducing the Pulsar 150NS could lead to cannibalism within the brand. Despite this, Bajaj might decide to introduce this model in the near future, along the lines of its three-pronged approach.
The Pulsar 150NS is built on a revised version of the Pulsar 200NS’ perimeter frame with a slimmer rear subframe, to suit the smaller tyre. Apart from this subframe, most of the components have been straightaway lifted from the Pulsar 200NS parts bin. It is powered by a 149cc twin-spark engine, which churns out 16.8bhp and 13Nm of torque. In India, the Pulsar 150NS will compete with other premium 150cc commuter motorcycles like the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ-S version 2.0 and the Hero Xtreme Sports.
