After unveiling the new Pulsar 150NS in Colombia earlier this month, Bajaj seems to have started testing out the naked 150cc commuter on Indian soil. The folks at ICB have managed to lay their hands on a new batch of pictures of the Pulsar 150NS undergoing trials in Pune.
While the photographed test mule didn’t sport ‘150NS’ badging, the narrower tyres give away the bike’s identity. The prototype also didn’t feature a tyre hugger, though Bajaj might equip the production model with one. All other visual elements including the paint scheme are similar to those of the Pulsar 200NS.
Derived from the single-cylinder platform of the Pulsar 200NS, the Pulsar 150NS uses a downsized version of the triple-spark DTS-I engine. This engine displaces 150cc and loses out on the liquid-cooling system. Power figures are expected to be higher than Bajaj’s current 150cc twin-spark DTS-I engine.
Bajaj had recently revealed that they were planning to launch as many as six new products in the next few months and the Pulsar 150NS is expected to be one of these six. The Pulsar 150NS will go up against the likes of Yamaha FZ-S Version 2.0, Honda CB Unicorn 160 and the Suzuki Gixxer.
