The technical specifications of the new Bajaj Pulsar 150NS have been leaked on the Internet, which reveal that the motorcycle is powered by a new engine producing 16.8bhp. The technical specifications of the 150cc commuter motorcycle have been leaked, along with a bunch of photos that were snapped at a trade fair in Turkey.
The new Pulsar 150NS is powered by a downsized version of the 200cc triple-spark engine. This four-valve single-cylinder 149.5cc unit ditches the liquid-cooling system and churns out 16.8bhp and 13Nm of torque. While the difference in torque is negligible, the power figure has received a significant bump of 1.8bhp, over the Pulsar 150 DTS-I, which will make it the most powerful naked 150cc motorcycle in India. The engine will be mated to a five-speed transmission.
Despite using a heavier perimeter frame borrowed from the Pulsar 200NS, the new Pulsar 150NS will weigh just one kilogram more than the standard Pulsar 150DTS-i. The rear section of the chassis has been modified to suit the skinnier 17-inch 100/90 rear tyre. And while the Pulsar 150 DTS-i featured a 15 litre fuel tank, the fuel capacity in the Pulsar 150NS has been reduced to 12 litres.
The Pulsar 150NS is expected to be launched in India, in the next few months. It will compete with other premium 150cc commuter motorcycles like the Honda CB Unicorn 160, Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ-S version 2.0 and the Hero Xtreme Sports.
