Details about the Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi facelift have been leaked ahead of its launch later this year.
One of the important updates for the new Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi is the addition of a new 230mm Bybre rear disc brake borrowed from the Pulsar 220F. The instrument cluster now gets a blue backlight. The only cosmetic change is the addition of new paint scheme. The new Pulsar 180 DTSi will be offered in a red and black dual tone paint scheme to set it apart from the older model.
Powering the current Bajaj Pulsar 180 DTSi is the same 178cc single-cylinder engine, which has been updated to meet the BS IV emission norms. While this engine delivers 17bhp and 14Nm of torque in its current guise, rumours suggest that the updated engine will be slightly more powerful.
While Bajaj sells the Pulsar 180NS and Pulsar 150NS in a few global markets, it has so far refrained from launching the motorcycle in India. One of the plausible explanations for this can be the increase in the price tag. While the Naked Sport models are more advanced than the current Pulsars, it is quite obvious that Bajaj will not be able to offer these bikes at the same lucrative price. The current Pulsar 180 DTSi was launched in 2009, and has only received a few cosmetic changes so far. Expected to be launched in the next few weeks, the new Pulsar 180 DTSi will share the market space with the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 180, Honda CB Unicorn 160 and the Suzuki Gixxer.
