- Expected to receive a hike of Rs 7,750
- Will receive single-channel ABS like other Bajaj models
- Successor to the now discontinued Pulsar 180
Bajaj Auto had introduced the Pulsar 180F in India last month. While the motorcycle was mechanically the same as the Pulsar 180, the company had skipped the inclusion of ABS. However, on contacting our dealer sources we have learned that Bajaj will be launching the ABS-equipped Pulsar 180F on 15 April. Reportedly, the bike will be priced at Rs 95,200 (ex-showroom, Varanasi). In comparison with the difference of prices of other Bajaj models sold in Varanasi and New Delhi, expect the Pulsar 180F ABS to carry a sticker price of Rs 94,750 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). It is a hike of Rs 7,750 over the non-ABS variant.
The Bajaj Pulsar 180F is the successor to the now-discontinued Pulsar 180. The motorcycle is powered by a 178cc, air-cooled, carburetted motor which churns out 17bhp at 8,500rpm and 14Nm at 6,500rpm. The motor comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels and is sprung by telescopic forks up front and dual Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 260mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear.
In terms of competition, the Bajaj Pulsar 180F ABS will go up against the likes of TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS, Yamaha Fazer FI V2.0, Suzuki Gixxer SF and the Hero Xtreme 200R.
