Bajaj Pulsar 180F – What else can you buy

Bajaj’s Pulsar range has been the cornerstone for the brand and the Chakan-based bikemaker never shied away from adding more offerings to this lineup. Now, the newest addition is the Bajaj Pulsar 180F which is the standard Pulsar 180 underneath but wears clothes of its elder sibling – the Pulsar 220F. The half-faired motorcycle is priced at Rs 86,490 and we take a look at what other options a buyer has in this price range.

This segment has options in abundance coming from various manufacturers. We start with Honda. The Japanese brand offers the commuter-focused, simple-looking Unicorn 160 along with the stylish CB Hornet 160R and the X-Blade. All three bikes get a common 162.71cc, air-cooled engine which has been tuned differently for each model. Priced at Rs 78,972, the Honda CB Unicorn 160 is the most affordable offering. The X-Blade is on the premium side at Rs 89,437 while the CB Hornet 160 is most expensive at Rs 92,640.

Moving on, one can also peek into TVS’s portfolio which has the Apache RTR 160 4V ABS and the Apache RTR 180 ABS. The former, with its 159.7cc, 16.1bhp, 14.8Nm mill and modern features, costs Rs 91,645 (carburetor) and Rs 98,644 (fuel-injected). The TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS, on the other hand, gets a more powerful 177cc, air-cooled, carburetor motor and is priced at Rs 84,578. Notably, it is the most affordable bike featuring dual-channel ABS.

Suzuki also offers a couple of motorcycles in this ballpark – the naked street bike Gixxer and its fully-faired version, the Gixxer SF. Powered by a 155cc motor that churns out 14bhp and 14Nm, the Gixxer costs Rs 90,135 while the SF variant retails at Rs 98,863. At a similar price, one can also consider the Hero Xtreme 200R which gets a bigger 199.6cc, air-cooled powerplant that generates 18.1bhp and 17.1Nm. Lastly, if you want a similar-looking, half-faired motorcycle, Yamaha has the Fazer FI V 2.0 that is powered by a 149cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected motor that pumps out 13bhp and 12.8Nm. It carries a price tag of Rs 89,643.
