Bajaj’s upcoming 200cc supersports motorcycle, the Pulsar 200SS, has been spotted at a dealership. The first fully-faired motorcycle from Bajaj, the Pulsar 200SS was first showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, and was recently launched in Turkey.
While reports suggest that this motorcycle was spotted at an Indian dealership, some discrepancies in the photo indicate that it wasn’t clicked in India. First of all, the Pulsar 200NS models in the photograph sport black licence plates, which are common in Turkey and Indonesia, but not in India. Also, the Pulsar 200NS model right next to the Pulsar 200SS seems to be heavily customised with hand guards and cowls, which are not offered in the Indian market.
The Pulsar 200SS will be mechanically identical to the naked Pulsar 200NS and will be powered by the same 199.5cc engine which produces 23bhp and 18Nm of torque. While rumours suggest that the Pulsar 200S will get fuel-injection, the company hasn’t confirmed this yet.
The Pulsar 200SS will be offered in four two-tone paint schemes – blue/white, red/white, yellow/white and black. We expect the Pulsar 200SS to be priced around Rs 25,000 more than its naked sibling, the Pulsar 200NS. It will compete with the Yamaha YZF-R15 and the Honda CBR150R.
