Bajaj Auto has launched the AS150 for the Indian market at a price of Rs 79,000 (ex-showroom). The new motorcycle is the smaller 150cc adventure-tourer from the manufacturer.
The new Pulsar AS150 is based on a new perimeter frame like the AS200. It features the same body kit that the Pulsar AS200 has. The AS150 carries most of the elements from the Pulsar AS200. The bike boasts of a new quarter fairing, a projector headlamp and a tall windscreen that is same as the one on the AS200. The OVRMs, clip-on handlebars, tail lamps and most other elements are from the Pulsar NS200.
The Bajaj Pulsar AS150 is powered by a revised version of the existing 150cc air-cooled DTS-i mill. This 149.5cc single-cylinder motor produces 16.8bhp of power and 13Nm of torque. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Various test mules of the AS150 were spotted in and around the city where Bajaj has a manufacturing plant. Finally, Bajaj has launched the Pulsar AS150 along with its elder sibling, the Pulsar AS200, which is powered by the 200cc mill seen on the NS200.
Bajaj Auto, the Pune-based motorcycle manufacturer, has gone on a launch spree this year by introducing new motorcycles to the Indian market. They recently launched the fully-faired Pulsar RS200 and now have launched the 'Adventure Sport' motorcycles - the Pulsar AS200 and AS150. The AS150 will compete with the Yamaha Fazer V2.0 and the upcoming Suzuki Gixxer SF.
