After launching the much awaited Pulsar RS200, Bajaj Motorcycles launched their new series of Adventure Sports bikes – the AS200 and the AS150. In fact, it now looks like the company isn’t going to stop there as there is now believed to be the Pulsar AS180 in the pipeline.
This information was revealed by ET, who also claims that the Pune-based manufacturer will launch two new motorcycle brands by FY17. While we had reported about the first brand few weeks ago, which will be positioned as an executive commuter brand, the second brand will be in the 400cc segment, which we believe the cruiser sports 400, which was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo.
The company is planning to shift its focus from 100cc segment, which is crowded with lot of products towards new executive and premium bikes. With the Pulsar AS180, we think that Bajaj is following the same strategy of offering more products in the same displacement as it did with the 100cc and 125cc bikes which failed miserably. Bajaj might launch the AS180 version before the updated naked sibling to increase its market share.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we bring you more details on the new Pulsars.
