Bajaj recently launched the standard version of the Pulsar 150 in India at Rs 67,437 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Around that price range, there is a comprehensive list of motorcycles and scooters that you can buy. Here is what the grid looks like-
There are four commuter motorcycles in this list with a similar engine capacity as the Pulsar Classic 150. From Bajaj’s stables itself, there is the V15.
The bike is powered by a 149cc, single-cylinder motor that produces 11.8bhp and 13Nm of torque. It retails at Rs 65,626. There is the Honda Unicorn 150 which retails at Rs 73,029. It uses a 149cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 13.14bhp and 12.84Nm of torque. The Hero Achiever 150 is priced at Rs 68,100 and gets a 149cc engine that puts out 13bhp and 13Nm of torque. And finally, the Yamaha SZ RR V2.0 with a price tag of Rs 67,803. Its 149cc single produces 11.9bhp and 12.8Nm of torque.
You could also have the smallest bike in the Pulsar range, the 135 LS. Priced at Rs 64,589 the bike uses a 135cc single-cylinder engine that puts out 13bhp and 11Nm of torque.
Also available are two 125cc commuters, the Hero Glamour i3S and the Honda CB Shine SP priced at Rs 60,600 and Rs 63,763 respectively. The Glamour i3S gets a 124cc single cylinder engine that puts out 11.4bhp and 11Nm of torque. The Honda CB Shine SP’s 124cc engine, on the other hand produces 10.57bhp and 10.3Nm of torque.
The Indian motorcycle market also offers six scooters in the price range of the Pulsar Classic 150. There is the Aprilia SR 150 at Rs 70,348. Its 154cc engine produces 10.25bhp and 11.4Nm of torque. The scooter is also available in a 125cc version called the SR 125 which is priced at Rs 66,076. It uses a 124cc engine that puts out 9.4bhp and 8.2Nm of torque. Sharing the same engine as the Aprilia SR 125 is the Vespa LX 125 retailing at Rs 73,261. Honda has two scooters in this category, the Activa 125 and Grazia. While the Activa 125 costs Rs 64,084, the Grazia carries a price tag of Rs 60,095. Both use the same 124cc engine that produces 8.5bhp and 10.5Nm of torque.
You could also have the TVS Ntorq 125 at a price of Rs 62,300. The scooter is powered by a 124cc engine that produces 9.1bhp and 10.5Nm of torque.
