-New Bajaj commuter spotted testing
-Likely the Pulsar N125
-Should be based on the Pulsar N150
Bajaj Auto is out testing a new commuter motorcycle and it most likely is the new Pulsar N125. At present, Bajaj sells the N150, N160, and the N250 in the market and a new, premium 125cc commuter motorcycle could be added to the Pulsar N-series portfolio.
The Pulsar N125 might be based on the Pulsar N150’s platform. This means it’ll have a diamond frame, suspended by a telescopic fork and a monoshock. The bike seen in the spy shots here has the same 17-inch alloy wheels as on the Pulsar N150. As for the braking set up one can see a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
While the bike is heavily camouflaged, the design of the Pulsar N125 should be on the same lines as the Pulsar N150. From what is visible, the N125 won’t get a projector LED headlight like its bigger siblings and instead makes do with an multi reflector LED unit. The fuel tank with the sharp extensions add to the visual mass while the upswept tail section goes with the sporty design theme of the bike. Speaking of, the rider is seated in an upright riding position although the footpegs are slightly rearset.
As for the features list, expect the bike to have LED lights and a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity sans the navigation function.
Bajaj currently sells the Pulsar 125 in the segment but that is based on an ageing platform. The Pulsar N125 will be tasked with bringing in a young set of buyers to Bajaj showrooms. In fact, the premium 125cc commuter motorcycle space has been witnessing a lot of demand with the TVS Raider ruling the roost. The new Hero Xtreme 125R is the newest entrant and has already made a mark for itself. The demand for it has grown so much that Hero is increasing its production to 25,000 units a month.
Clearly then, a lot of young buyers are looking for a well rounded 125cc bike with style and features added to the mix. It will hence be imperative for Bajaj to enter with the Pulsar N125 and grab a piece of pie.
